We are currently recruiting for a Sterile Services Technician vacancy. This is an excellent opportunity to join the business at an entry‑level and receive world‑class training to get you on to a defined career pathway.
About You

TRAINING AND WORKING PATTERN
* 12 weeks training, hours are Mon‑Fri, 9am‑5pm; thereafter your normal shift will be Mon‑Fri, 3pm‑11pm (1 in 4 weekends)
WHAT YOU WILL DO
* Follow a highly regulated end‑to‑end sterilisation/decontamination process on surgical instruments that have been used in operations in local NHS and private hospitals, to ensure they can be used again safely for the next patient.
* Ensure the effective preparation of sterile consumables (dressings, linen, surgical instruments, and equipment) by the process of decontamination, inspection, assembly and packing within predefined quality standards.
* Rigourously check, wash, lay up and pack sets of theatre instruments to meet contract specifications within predefined quality standards.
* Safely operate and monitor machines and equipment (washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic and sterilisers) effectively.
* Ensure that repairs and missing instruments or equipment are recorded and logged on the Tracking and Traceability computer system (SynergyTrak).
* Ensure that repaired instruments or equipment are returned to stock or the appropriate coded sets or the Trust’s appointed person.

* An annual salary of £24,465 plus a 5% performance bonus, and generous shift allowances if you work overtime/unsociable hours! Plus, a higher cost of living allowance if you work in London.

Access to a Level 2 Healthcare Science Assistant Apprenticeship! This is a 12‑15 month fully funded programme studying good scientific practice for the Healthcare profession! It is universally applicable outside of STERIS! Completed on the job, you are given 20% of your working hours to study towards the qualification. Further apprenticeships are available throughout the course of your career!
