Position Description:
1. As lead manufacturing engineer you will assist the department manager in the day to day running of the production engineering team.
2. Responsible for creating, improving and maintaining manufacturing processes.
3. Provide production support and problem solve manufacturing issues.
4. Support Sub-Contract team with technical liaison.
5. Prepared to be flexible with working hours to suit the business needs.
6. Work to tight deadlines to achieve on time delivery targets.
7. Possess strong problem-solving and good communication skills.
8. Work with Design Engineering on new product DFM
9. Ability to communicate and influence cross functional teams
Responsibilities:
10. Drive improvements as part of continuous improvement culture
11. Supervise and mentor the junior members of team.
12. Work in a safe manner in line with the companies Health and Safety policy.
13. Ensure quality is maintained and processes are correctly implemented to company standards.
Essential Experience:
14. Experience of working in a busy production office environment
15. Previous experience of working with super alloys, castings and composites
16. Ideally Apprentice served with machinist experience background
17. Able to read engineering drawings and understand tolerance requirements
18. Strong modern tooling knowledge.
19. Familiar with modern machining methods
20. Work holding /fixture design experience
21. Expertise in CAD. Solid Edge or similar system
22. Understanding of CNC code and offline programming experience an advantage
23. Capital Expenditure (CAPEX): Identify suitable new equipment, create proposals, and oversee the commissioning and FAT
24. Computer Literate (Microsoft)
25. SAP experience an advantage. Understanding of ERP/MRP systems
26. Creation of BoM and routings
27. Understand Health& Safety environment/procedures.
Education:
28. Apprenticeship/machinist background
29. HNC/HND desired but relevant experience will also be considered.
Experience
30. 10 years (min) Engineering experience within the manufacturing industry.
31. CI experience (6 Sigma methodologies)
