GSL Education are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in managing challenging behaviours to join an inspiring and inclusive school in Basingstoke.

This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and young people with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant :

Build strong, positive relationships with students to support their emotional well-being and engagement in school life
Provide one-to-one and small group support to help pupils manage emotions, behaviour, and social interactions
Monitor student welfare and behaviour across the school day, working closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families
Support the implementation of behaviour and emotional support plans
Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment
Job Description - SEN Teaching Assistant – Basingstoke – September 2025 Start!

Job Type: Full-Time/ part time
Salary: £82.80 to £100 per day
The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant should:

Have experience or a passion for working with children with SEN
Be flexible, proactive and patient
Be nurturing and caring in your approaches
Be able to communicate effectively within a team
Be open to providing personal care
A keen interest and willingness to work with challenging behaviour and complex needs.
To work with GSL Education as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you should:

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.

Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
