The Role Were looking for an experienced 2nd/3rd Line Support Engineer to join our team in Leatherhead. This is a hands-on technical role covering complex escalations from our Tier 1 desk, alongside ownership of infrastructure projects and migrations for our client base. Youll be working directly with the Operations Manager on Tier 3 escalations and leading technical delivery on project work. Youll own problems end-to-end and have genuine scope to shape how we deliver infrastructure and cloud services to our clients. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Handle escalated Tier 2 and Tier 3 tickets from the helpdesk, owning resolution end-to-end Manage and maintain Microsoft 365 tenants including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, and Entra ID Support and administer Azure infrastructure - virtual machines, Entra ID, Conditional Access, Defender for Endpoint Lead and deliver migration and upgrade projects (e.g. Windows 11 rollouts, server replacements, tenant-to-tenant migrations) Configure and troubleshoot Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS/DHCP Support networking infrastructure including VLANs, VPNs, Wi-Fi (UniFi, DrayTek, FortiGate), and RADIUS/NPS Maintain and develop our RMM platform - alerting, scripting, automation, patching Contribute to documentation in our knowledge base and produce client-facing runbooks Participate in onboarding new clients, including remote site surveys and infrastructure assessments Provide guidance and mentoring to Tier 1 staff on technical issues What Were Looking For Essential Experience Minimum 3 years in a 2nd or 3rd line MSP environment Strong Microsoft 365 administration - Exchange Online, Intune, Entra ID, Teams, SharePoint Solid hands-on Azure experience - VMs, Azure AD/Entra, Conditional Access, Defender Windows Server administration - AD DS, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, File Services Networking fundamentals - TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, VPN, firewall configuration Experience leading or owning technical projects (not just contributing to them) Comfortable working with RMM tools Strong documentation discipline - you leave things better than you found them Desirable Microsoft certifications - AZ-104, MS-102, SC-300, or equivalent Experience with PSA platforms PowerShell scripting for automation and administration tasks Exposure to Cyber Essentials Experience with UniFi, DrayTek, or FortiGate network infrastructure What We Offer Salary £34,000 £55,000 depending on experience and demonstrated capability Microsoft certification support - we fund and schedule exams as part of your development A small, close-knit team where your work is visible and your contribution matters Genuine technical variety - no two days the same, real infrastructure challenges Clear progression path towards Senior Engineer and beyond 28 days holiday including bank holidays Leatherhead office with free parking Opportunity to work across a specialist, interesting client base About the Team Were a business that promotes from within where possible and invests in technical development.
