Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust is launching an ambitious programme to explore and establish a newly commissioned Children and Young People's Gender Service across North East & Yorkshire, following the landmark Cass Review.
We're building a dynamic programme team of passionate, forward-thinking leaders to drive this vision. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, love turning strategy into impact, and want to be part of a transformative journey in NHS care, we want you on board.
About You: You're a skilled Programme Manager with solid experience leading complex projects in NHS or similar settings. You're highly organised, clear in your approach, and work well with others, translating big-picture goals into practical, timely delivery.
Reporting into the Strategic Programme Director, your responsibilities will include :
Provide project management leadership and expertise to this important, high profile programme, working closely with project team members, the Trust's Care Group clinical and operational leads and regional partners.
Provide robust and detailed management of workstreams within the programme.
Produce regular, meaningful status updates for a variety of audiences both internal and external, presenting these at meetings where appropriate.
Act as a central co-ordination point for colleagues across the Trust, both corporately and within the Care Groups, to provide information and guidance on the programme. Lead the coordination and submission of an ambitious business case working closely with Programme Leads.
Highlight issues and challenges and proactively problem-solve, working in a positive and supportive manner with the Programme team.
At Sheffield Children's, our purpose is clear: to provide healthier futures for children and young people. Our three strategic aims are Outstanding Patient Care, Brilliant Place to Work, and Leaders in Children's Health.
We work with partners across local, regional, and national levels to deliver physical and mental healthcare in both acute and community settings. Many of our clinicians are nationally and internationally recognised for their expertise.
We're proud that 73% of colleagues would recommend Sheffield Children's as a place to work, placing us among the top five NHS trusts in England — and the top-ranked trust in the North East and Yorkshire — in the latest NHS Staff Survey.
Our nearly 4,000 colleagues bring our CARE values — Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence — to life every day, creating a kind, welcoming environment where patients and families feel safe and supported.
As we approach our 150th anniversary in 2026, we're excited to keep building our leadership in children's health, improve experiences for patients and staff, and focus on our communities and population health.
We also offer excellent benefits to support your wellbeing, with generous annual leave and pension schemes, health and wellbeing programmes, and exclusive discounts — helping you thrive at work and beyond.
