Let us introduce the role We are recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager to join our Nuclear Risk Management team. Here you will deliver low risk, low complexity tasks/work packages within a formal project environment. You will contribute towards successful completion of projects, coordinate the raising of purchase requisitions, monitor requisition progress, and escalate any delays under the control of a project manager or senior project manager, compliant with AWE processes.
Ideally, the right candidate should have experience in the Science or Engineering sectors. You should demonstrate stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
While not exhaustive, candidates should be able to demonstrate:
Build and maintain effective internal and external relationships
Read, analyze, and interpret charts, spreadsheets, schedules, and technical drawings
Clear and concise communication skills, both oral and written
Foster good team morale and motivate others
Effective multi-tasking, managing priorities to meet deadlines
Good listening skills to understand requests and convert them into action plans
Ability to hold others accountable for standards
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
In this role you will: Deliver assigned tasks in accordance with requirements, constraints, time, cost, and quality standards
Maintain high standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality
Key Responsibilities: Manage governance tasks (compliance and reporting)
Create, update, and maintain project management artefacts
Manage project resources (people, budget)
Support project planning and initiate changes against the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB)
Identify and act on risks and opportunities
Perform other duties as required by business needs
You should be able to work calmly in a changing environment, manage your workload, and possess initiative, enthusiasm, flexibility, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
