Main purpose of role
If you are looking to broaden your industry experience and progress your career within project management, our Northeast team are seeking experienced Project Managers looking to develop into a senior position. You will work on a range of industry-leading infrastructure projects, with opportunities in transportation, utilities and highways within our client base.
Scope
Senior Project Managers handle commissions of varying sizes, typically in the £10m to £25m range. Where the service provided is advisory (e.g., urban regeneration funding), the overall project size may be larger.
Key Accountabilities
* Advising at a strategic level at project inception, including advice on different approaches to achieve the client’s objectives
* Preparing and maintaining definitions of project requirements
* Establishing the overall success criteria for the project (time, cost, technical and performance parameters)
* Establishing effective project governance, processes and systems for the project
* Preparing and maintaining schedules of activity and the master project plan
* Managing development of the project in accordance with approved plans and targets
* Developing and implementing resource plans and procurement of resources
* Leading and facilitating the cross-functional project team
* Monitoring and applying performance management techniques, including KPI usage
* Managing the change control process
* Developing and agreeing budgets and controlling forecast and actual costs
* Managing project information flow between the team and client through meetings and written communications
* Identifying and monitoring project risks and implementing risk mitigations
* Preparing formal project progress and other reports
* Interfacing with the client, other consultants, and managing stakeholders at all project stages
* Advising the client on Health & Safety and Environmental issues and risks
* Planning for and ongoing management of quality, safety, health and environment issues
Qualifications
* Experience in a complex stakeholder environment desirable
* NEC3: ECC Project Manager accreditation is desirable
* Chartered/qualified with ICE, APM, RICS or equivalent
* Degree qualification in a construction-related subject preferred
