As the Electrical Safety Systems and Compliance Engineer you will carry out planned safety circuit inspections, compliance checks, and preventative maintenance tasks, working both independently and as part of the wider maintenance team. This is a key role in supporting site safety, reducing downtime, and ensuring all electrical safety systems meet required industry and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carrying out planned safety circuit preventative maintenance (PM’s) across site
Ensuring all safety system checks are completed on schedule
Recording, updating and reporting all maintenance activities accurately
Identifying and reporting faults, failures or risks within safety systems
Ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards and site procedures
Working with the maintenance team to support safe and efficient operations
Completing documentation and updating ERP systems accurately
Supporting compliance audits and safety inspections
Maintaining strong communication with supervisors and site management
Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
Supporting continuous improvement in safety systems and reliability
Skills and Experience
Previous experience within an industrial, manufacturing, or engineering maintenance environment
A recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
Experience of 415VAC-24VDC, 3 phase / single phase motors, Panel wiring and controls including safety circuits, Ability to understand and interpret wiring diagrams, Familiar with IP2X and BS60204 Electrical Control panel standards, experience of ATEX preferable, Panel wiring and controls including safety circuits, Ability to understand and interpret wiring diagrams, Familiar with IP2X and BS60204 Electrical Control panel standards
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams
Experience working with control panels and safety circuits
Knowledge of BS60204 standards and control panel safety requirements
Proven experience in fault finding, inspection, and planned maintenance
A strong awareness of health & safety practices in an industrial setting
Excellent communication skills with a proactive, customer-focused approach
Ideally experience of operating in a manufacturing environment
