Revvity Omics is one of the world's largest providers of newborn screening services and offers comprehensive genetic testing solutions that help provide insight into the complex nature of rare and inherited diseases. We are looking for an innovative Bioinformatics Analyst to join our bioinformatics team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Process and manage Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis
* Develop data processing pipelines for genomics and other lab testing assays
* Develop software applications, databases and custom scripts
* Maintain sample tracking logs and deliver results to customers
* Support internal and external data analysis and application development projects
* Assist in managing data archival, storage and computing resources
* Collaborate with other business stakeholders to identify challenges and present solutions
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in bioinformatics, biostatistics, computer sciences or equivalent in Life Sciences discipline
* 2+ years of experience in bioinformatics in an industrial, academic, or government laboratory
* 2+ years of experience in building and delivering NGS data analysis pipelines and software applications
* Strong programming skills and proficient in programing languages including Python, SQL and shell scripting
* Experience in AWS (S3, EC2, Lambda, Batch, etc.) is a plus
* Experience in Illumina's BaseSpace and ICA (Illumina Connected Analytics) platforms is a plus
* Experience in long-read sequencing data technologies (PacBio HiFi, Oxford Nanopore) is a plus
* Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently as well as work with others in a team
* Experience in working in a clinical laboratory environment is preferred
