Achieving for Children is dedicated to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential. Our Referral and Assessment Team, part of Children's Social Care's Identification and Assessment division, works directly with children and families, focusing on initial involvement through new referrals, child in need, child protection, and initial court proceedings. Our aim is to support families in their time of crisis to prevent the escalation of concerns.
As a Social Worker within the Referral and Assessment Team, you will bring proven experience and skills in working with children and families. You will be based in the Twickenham Office with 3 days in the office or int he community per week.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Initial Involvement: Handle new referrals, conduct child in need assessments, and manage initial court proceedings.
2. Protective Investigations: Undertake child protective investigations, safety, and contingency planning.
3. Court Work: Manage pre-proceedings work, including report writing, statements, and care planning.
4. Direct Work with Children: Engage in child-focused direct work, demonstrating creativity and purposefulness throughout the statutory services journey, including when children become 'looked after'.
