OVERVIEW
Senior level appointment for a Chartered Building Surveyor delivering insurance-led residential and commercial instructions across the West Midlands and Central England.
Permanent, full-time role operating on a hybrid working pattern.
Primary focus on technical surveying, defect diagnosis and project delivery with instruction ownership and direct client reporting responsibility.
SALARY & PACKAGE
* £65,000–£75,000 basic salary
* Team-based bonus linked to combined surveying team performance
* Enhanced individual bonus from year two for exceeding agreed fee targets

THE ROLE
Primary commercial driver is delivery of insurance-led surveying instructions across residential and commercial assets.
* Undertake inspections across varied asset types
* Diagnose defects and determine cause, scope and liability
* Prepare detailed technical reports and reinstatement specifications
* Produce schedules of work, drawings and contract documentation
* Lead refurbishment, repair and reinstatement projects
* Administer building contracts and manage project delivery
* Tender works and undertake post-tender analysis
* Monitor works on site against programme, cost and quality
* Manage duties under CDM Regulations
* Advise on Party Wall matters and statutory compliance
* Consider Building Regulations and planning legislation requirements
* Maintain direct client reporting responsibility
* Support fee generation and instruction pipeline growth
* Operate independently across a regional workload

Core workload includes insurance-led instructions, refurbishment and reinstatement works.
Client base spans private owners, insurers and commercial stakeholders.
Growth driven by sustained increase in regional instruction volumes and expansion of the Building Surveying service line.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
* Degree qualified in Building Surveying or related discipline
* MRICS Chartered status essential
* Post-qualification experience across residential and commercial property
* Proven delivery of project management and contract administration instructions
* Strong technical understanding of building pathology and construction
* Working knowledge of CDM Regulations, Party Wall matters and statutory compliance
* Experience handling insurance-led instructions advantageous
* Ability to manage regional workload independently
* Full UK driving licence
