Base pay range
Up to £45,000, plus full entitlement to an annual bonus scheme, private healthcare scheme, flexible working options, paid overtime and genuine opportunities for progression.
Please note, additional overtime is required based on customer needs. On average, employees are expected to cover up to x4 overtime shifts per month, which are paid at £200 per shift.
Overview
Express Recruitment are proud to be supporting one of Nottingham’s longest established software companies. Due a recent company merger and increased investment, our client is seeking the addition of a Controls Software Engineer to join their growing team.
Due to the nature of the role, occasional field work is required to attend client sites to assist in programming and configuration of automation controls software and web application systems. A full UK Driving License is essential.
Responsibilities
* Participate in each phase of the software life cycle, including design, programming, configuration and site implementation of software controls
* Develop software for bespoke automation pilot systems using a mix of MS Visual Studio, C++, SQL and VB.NET
* Develop key knowledge of bespoke ERP system, and assist with maintaining database systems, including dashboards and extracting analytic reports to review performance
* Adhering to ISO 9001 industry quality standards
* Use SQL databases daily to produce customized reports
* Collaborate with the Software Tester to resolve bug tracker issues and facilitate API integrations
* Consult closely with cross departmental management team, key stakeholders and on-site customers
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience working with VB.NET frameworks highly desirable
* Experienced with SQL servers and other associated analytic tools essential
* Previous experience in the process control or automation sector preferable
* Previous experience working as a Control Systems Engineer desirable but not essential
* Experience configuring and implementing ERP systems would be useful
* Knowledge of working with Web APIs strongly desirable
* Ability to build professional rapport with clients
* Full UK Driving License essential
