Senior Designer
A Snapshot of Your Day
To be part of the Turbine Package Design and Contracts team for new units. Creating vital standard designs for the Small Gas Turbine package range whilst implementing them into contracts for our global customers. To consult with all departments including various engineering departments, projects, planning, quality, and production to ensure all designs, documentation, components are in place for the new turbine packages. This role will be part of a multi-disciplined team.
How You'll Make an Impact
* Produce Mechanical CAD Designs and Drawings for the turbine package range including general assemblies, piping layouts, fabrication drawings, detail drawings, bills of material, and specifications.
* Checking & approving the work of other team members.
* Liaise and support external suppliers as required.
* Support problem-solving regarding the design aspects of the package build.
* Support turbine package build on implementing designs.
* Produce various tender drawings to support the tendering team.
* Manage the delivery of work packages and oversee junior staff and SOWs as required.
* Apply creative and conceptual thinking to develop new approaches where necessary.
* Understand and work to BS8888 standards.
What You Bring
* Qualified to HNC Level with typically 8 years of mechanical design experience, including 5 years in engineering functions within a similar industry.
* A fundamental understanding of mechanical design and practical experience in its application, with the ability to interpret and produce detailed engineering documentation.
* Experience in creating designs within the Power Generation and Oil & Gas Industry.
* Experience working in a multi-disciplined team.
* Experience in and capability to operate in an international project arena.
* Comprehensive knowledge of CAD systems (Siemens NX preferred).
* Electrical knowledge (not essential).
* Knowledge of Siemens PLM software.
