About the Role:
The Headteacher is seeking to appoint an aspiring subject Teacher to join this thriving specialist CSE School. Reporting to the Headteacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons, ensuring the department and school achieve their aims. We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, and determined individual who shares our values and is eager to develop their career in this specialist area.
Who are we looking for?
While ideally, we prefer a qualified Teacher, we will consider applicants who are experienced Instructors with ambition and desire. Experience within a specialist provision is desirable but not essential; applications from those working in mainstream or college settings will also be considered.
Subject specialism is essential, as is knowledge of current best practices in your chosen subject.
Training and development will be provided based on the needs of the school, the skills of the individual, and their career aspirations.
Key Accountabilities:
* Plan and teach well-structured lessons.
* Support learners aiming for GCSE English, Functional Skills English, and accredited Art qualifications – NCFE and AQA.
* Manage classes effectively, using approaches appropriate to students’ needs to motivate them.
* Manage student anxiety to ensure a safe and enjoyable learning environment.
* Understand how to assess your subject and curriculum areas, including statutory assessment requirements.
* Experience teaching at KS3 or KS4 in a specialist or mainstream setting.
* Experience teaching GCSE/Functional English and vocational subjects.
* Possess a dedicated work ethic to meet students' needs.
* Be passionate about making learning effective and enjoyable.
* Be DBS cleared with satisfactory references.
* Ability to work independently and on own initiative.
