Visum Recruitment are delighted to be representing our client, a global manufacturer within the power transmission sector, who are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive the growth of their geared motor and gearbox product range across the UK. The successful candidate will focus on developing new business opportunities whilst supporting and growing existing customer relationships within OEMs, distributors and end users.
This is a key commercial role within a growing business and would suit a technically minded sales professional with strong knowledge of geared motors, gearboxes and industrial power transmission products.
Business Development Manager Job Overview
* Drive sales growth of geared motors and gearbox products across the UK market.
* Identify and develop new business opportunities within OEM, distributor and end-user accounts.
* Provide customers with technical and commercial solutions tailored to their application requirements.
* Follow up quotations and work closely with regional sales teams to secure orders.
* Deliver technical product support and training to customers where required.
* Build and maintain strong long-term customer relationships.
* Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure excellent customer service and project delivery.
* Support business objectives by generating reports and maintaining accurate sales activity records.
Business Development Manager Job Requirements
* Proven experience selling geared motors, gearboxes or related power transmission products.
* Strong understanding of gearbox applications and product selection.
* Experience working within the UK gearbox market and customer base.
* Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
* Strong organisational and planning abilities.
* Self-motivated with a proactive approach to business development.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the UK.
* Knowledge of electric motors and automation products would be advantageous.
* ONC, HNC or Degree qualification in a mechanical or electrical discipline would be beneficial.
