Responsibilities
* Assisting the Shift Team Leader with the operation of the plant from a Central Control Room, including the operation of refuse cranes
* Ensuring day to day compliance with all aspects of the Environmental Permit, reporting any non-compliance or incidents to the Shift Team Leader
* Carrying out routine plant inspections, adjustments and operations as required, collecting and recording plant data
* Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Energy Recovery Facility at all times
* Monitoring stocks and taking receipts of consumables and collections
* Working as part of the Operations team, assisting the Shift Team Leader and supporting other team members as required
* Assisting other company staff and contractors as required
* Undertaking personal development to enhance knowledge and skills relevant to the role
Requirements
* Engineering experience working in a continuous process environment, preferably on steam generating equipment
* An interest in mechanical and electrical plant with some hands‑on experience of plant operations is essential
* Experience gained through shift working, with the ability to work a continuous rotating shift pattern including overtime when required
* A good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues
* Waste Incineration experience is desirable but not essential
