We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Clinical Nurse Manager to lead the delivery of healthcare and forensic medical services for people in police or SARCS care across NHS Highland’s custody suites. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for operational management, service delivery, financial compliance, and professional nurse leadership within the Custody Healthcare and SARCS team.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide operational and professional leadership for custody healthcare and forensic medical services, ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred care.
* Lead service development, planning, and performance review in partnership with the Clinical Nurse Manager for SARCS, the Service Manager and Forensic Medical Examiners.
* Drive service redesign and improvement projects, working collaboratively with Police Scotland and partner agencies.
* Ensure compliance with HIS Standards for Healthcare and Forensic Medical Services and contribute to national networks.
* Lead workforce planning, professional development, and advancement of nursing and medical practice.
* Act as an expert practitioner providing advice and support across custody and forensic settings.
About You
* Registered Nurse with significant custody post‑registration experience and leadership experience.
* Demonstrable experience of service development, redesign, and multi‑agency working.
* Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement, and evidence‑based practice.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
* Commitment to trauma‑informed, person‑centred, and inclusive care.
