Job Title Cable Design EngineerLocation UK Wide Hybrid Working AvailableTravel to the Leigh site approximately twice per monthSalary £45,000 £50,000 per annumHours Monday to Thursday: 8:30am 5:00pmFriday: 8:30am 12:30pmAbout the Opportunity Bolt Technical are recruiting for a Cable Design Engineer to join our clients technical team.Our client is a well-established manufacturer of high-performance cable solutions.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer with a strong background in cable design to play a key role in developing innovative products from concept through to production.Working closely with manufacturing, suppliers, and customers, youll be responsible for delivering technically compliant and commercially viable cable solutions while supporting continuous improvement and product lifecycle management.Key ResponsibilitiesInterpret customer requirements and provide timely technical responses to enquiriesDesign and develop high-performance cable products in line with customer specifications and regulatory standardsTake ownership of product Bills of Material (BOMs)Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are suitable for production capabilityDevelop product quality and control plans, including defining testing requirementsSupport material selection, validation, and testing activitiesCreate and maintain technical documentation and product support materialsEnsure products remain compliant with international standards and legislationLiaise with suppliers regarding materials and technical specificationsProvide technical support to sales and customer support teamsSupport cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives across the businessWhat Theyre Looking ForMinimum 10 years experience in cable design engineeringStrong knowledge of polymer materials and material selectionExperience with materials testing and product validationKnowledge of ERP systems (Monitor experience would be advantageous)Excellent communication and organisational skillsAdvanced MS Office skills, particularly ExcelStrong problem-solving and project management abilityAbility to prioritise multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detailSelf-motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently or within a teamProven ability to manage projects through to completionWhats on OfferCompetitive salary packageOpportunity to work on innovative high-performance cable productsStable and growing business environmentSupportive and collaborative engineering teamLong-term career development opportunitiesAdditional InformationBy applying for this position, you confirm that you have read and understood our Data Privacy Statement and give Bolt Technical authorisation to hold your provided data.This vacancy is advertised by Bolt Technical, who are acting as an employment agency/business.
