The role:
As a Quality Lead you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will play a vital role in ensuring quality excellence across some of the UK’s most exciting and strategically important programmes — including Advanced Modular Reactor (AMR) and Small Modular Reactor (SMR).
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
1. Leading quality across a programme or project, ensuring governance, assurance and compliance are robust and effective.
2. Providing subject matter expertise on all quality‑related matters, including risks, issues and continuous improvement.
3. Managing, supporting and developing quality personnel, ensuring resources are deployed effectively.
4. Developing and maintaining risk‑based audit programmes and overseeing supplier quality arrangements
5. Building strong relationships with internal teams, customers and suppliers to support a right‑first‑time quality culture
This is a permanent position, working 37 hours per week, based at any of our main UK locations. Travel to other Cavendish Nuclear or customer sites will be expected.
Essential experience of the Quality Lead:
6. Proven background in a regulated industry such as nuclear, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals or automotive.
7. Experience influencing at a strategic level, including driving change initiatives.
8. Experience working within a partnership or joint‑venture environment.
9. Strong leadership skills with the ability to build capability and support teams.
10. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Qualifications for the Quality Lead:
11. HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject, such as engineering
12. ISO Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor training.
13. Membership (or working towards) of the Chartered Quality Institute
Security Clearance:
