NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.
The Role
The CPDT is responsible for the development, support and management of pharmaceutical services provided by independent NHS contractors throughout the Board area. (GG&C pharmacy contractors exceed over 25% of the Scottish total.) This responsibility includes all aspects of strategic, operational and performance management and is undertaken in close partnership with Health & Social Care Partnerships (HSCPs). The role of community pharmacy has changed significantly since the introduction of the Scottish Government’s (SG) The Right Medicines in 2006. Further change is anticipated in response to the SG’s latest policy statement “Achieving Excellence in Pharmaceutical Care” and community pharmacy will provide the delivery of enhanced patient services from within the community pharmacy setting. The CPDT will respond to and support this evolving workload and manage the associated change processes under the leadership of the Lead Pharmacist - Community Care, PPSU. The CPDT is also responsible for ensuring the Board meets its statutory obligations under The Pharmaceutical Services (Scotland) Regulations 2009 as amended. For the Contracts Officer this will entail undertaking admin duties relating to the various contractual elements of the Regulations.

AI tools like ChatGPT or Copilot can be great for planning and preparing your application, but your answers must be your own.
* Show us the real you: Your application should reflect your skills, experience, and motivations authentically.
* Use AI wisely: It’s fine to use AI for ideas or to check spelling and grammar, but don’t let it write your answers.
* Why this matters: Applications that rely on AI-generated content may be withdrawn. By applying, you confirm your responses are based on your own knowledge and achievements.
Tip: Think of AI as a helper, not a substitute. We want to understand you, not an AI tool.
