Research Technician – Life Sciences, Biotechnology
The location of the role is Stevenage. The duration of the contract is 12 months. The pay rate on offer is £16 per hour (via PAYE – 37.5 hours per week).
Role Summary
The Research Technician – Method Development is responsible for delivering results in developing and evaluating next‑gen chromatography media. This position reports to the Manager, Analytical Methods, and is part of the Fibro R&D department located in Stevenage and will be an on‑site role.
Key Accountabilities of the Role
* Support the design, execution, and documentation of method optimisation experiments for analytical methods related to membrane chromatography products.
* Perform routine and non‑routine analytical testing, ensuring accurate and reliable data generation.
* Prepare clear, concise reports and maintain proper documentation of experimental results.
* Provide support to ensure laboratory compliance with Environment Health & Safety regulations.
* Collaborate with scientists to support development activities in monoclonal antibody purification workflows.
Key Skills and Experience
* Master’s degree in a bioscience‑based subject.
* At least 1 year of experience using AKTA systems.
* Experience working in a regulated lab.
Desirable Experience
* Preparing presentations and written reports to support decision‑making in multifaceted projects.
* Working in cross‑disciplinary teams.
* Use of SEC‑HPLC or ProA‑HPLC.
* Familiarity with Analytical Method Development.
