About The Role
You will work with the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Manager to promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the Business, keeping employees safe, preventing harm and ill health.
This role will develop to allow the successful candidate to understand and learn the SHE standards within the business in accordance with current legislation and company policies and procedures. Ensure the business, Managers and employees comply with all SHE legislation and that SHE policies and practices are adhered to.
You will work with the SHE Manager to facilitate the day-to-day operations of SHE whilst learning how to contribute to the planning, implementing, monitoring and reviewing of protective and preventative safety measures through working with Managers, employees, site operatives and the safety representatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Reports directly to the local SHE Manager.
* Work closely with the factory operations Management team.
* Learn from the SHE team so you can provide advice on SHE matters to Managers, employees and safety representatives.
* Assist in writing safety risk assessments including COSHH, Manual Handling, and work equipment assessments.
* Support compliance with ISO14001 and ISO45001 procedures.
* Support the SHE Manager with statistics and reports related to SHE.
* Assist in issuing and tracking corrective actions following SHE audits.
* Promote a positive SHE culture and develop SHE policies and procedures.
* Assist in maintaining and developing risk assessments to ensure they are up-to-date and effective.
* Help assess training needs and provide SHE training, including toolbox talks.
* Assist in investigating accidents and incidents, providing reports and root cause analysis.
* Share lessons learned from incidents with other group businesses.
* Gather data for key performance indicators and escalate concerns promptly.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills
* Proficiency in written and verbal English.
* Willingness to undergo training such as NEBOSH/IOSH/IEMA or CIEH.
* Understanding of current SHE laws and legislation is advantageous.
* Experience with SHE management systems is beneficial.
* Previous SHE experience in manufacturing is useful.
* Good IT skills in Microsoft Office.
