About this Role
We are looking to recruit flexible, dedicated and enthusiastic invigilators to join our team during busy exam periods.
The busy exam periods are during October/November, January/February and April-June. Working hours are variable depending on the school’s requirements but dates and hours are negotiable.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working with young people in an educational setting, have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team. IT competency would also be an advantage. However previous experience is not essential as training will be provided.

Required throughout the school year to invigilate exams. This role is on a casual basis depending on the needs of both Coombeshead Academy and South Devon UTC. You would be required to invigilate at both sites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Adhere to the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) Instructions for conducting examinations – ICE Book at all times.
2. Keep confidential exam question papers and materials secure before, during and after exams
3. Ensure exam rooms are set up according to the requirements
4. Admit candidates into exam rooms under formal examination conditions
5. Give full attention to conducting the examinations properly
6. Identify candidates and seat candidates according to the required arrangements
7. Distribute the correct question papers and exam materials to candidates
8. Instruct candidates in the conduct of their exams
9. Deal with candidate questions
10. Start exams
11. Supervise and observe candidates at all times and be vigilant throughout
12. Keep disruption in examination rooms to a minimum
13. Deal with emergencies or irregularities effectively
14. Record/report any incidents, disruption or irregularities
15. Complete attendance registers
16. Deal with candidate questions according to the regulations
17. Instruct candidates in finishing their examinations and collect examination scripts and materials
18. Dismiss candidates from the examination room
19. Check candidates’ names on scripts, match the details on the attendance register
20. Securely return all examination scripts, question papers and materials to the exams officer
21. Undertake annual training as required
