About the Role:

We are seeking a talented and detail-driven
Technical Designer

This role is at the heart of our bespoke kitchen and cabinetry projects, transforming design concepts into accurate technical drawings that enable our workshop to deliver flawless craftsmanship. If you have an eye for precision, a passion for quality, and a deep understanding of joinery construction, this is your opportunity to make a real impact in a fast-growing business.

As our Technical Designer, you will collaborate closely with clients, designers, and the production team to create detailed, practical, and beautiful solutions for high-end kitchens and fitted furniture. Working in our modern, state-of-the-art workshop, you'll play a critical role in ensuring every project runs seamlessly from concept to installation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with designers and clients to understand their requirements and translate them into functional and aesthetically pleasing bespoke designs.

• Produce detailed technical drawings and specifications using Mircovellum and Autocad (experience with other programs like Cabinet Vision or SolidWorks is advantageous).

• Create complete drawing packs for the workshop and installation teams, including plans, elevations, cutting lists, and assembly sheets.

• Ensure all designs are practical for manufacture and meet the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.

• Work closely with the production team, fitters, and subcontractors to guarantee accurate interpretation of design specifications.

• Check CNC programs prior to production for accuracy and efficiency.

• Lead handover meetings with the production manager and cabinet makers to ensure a smooth transition from design to manufacturing.

• Communicate with subcontractors and the purchasing team to order bespoke elements such as metalwork, glass, and upholstery.

• Conduct site surveys when necessary to capture accurate measurements and anticipate installation challenges.

• Update the CRM system with project progress, maintaining accurate records of milestones and client interactions.

• Stay ahead of industry trends, new materials, and software to continuously improve our design processes.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Technical Designer or Kitchen & Cabinet Designer within bespoke joinery or luxury furniture.

• Proficiency in Mircovellum and Autocad (or similar CAD programs such as Cabinet Vision or SolidWorks).

• Strong understanding of joinery manufacturing processes, CNC programming, and hardware specifications.

• Excellent knowledge of materials used in cabinetry, ensuring designs are functional, durable, and visually stunning.

• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with clients, designers, subcontractors, and workshop teams.

• Valid UK driver's licence and ability to travel to site when required.

• Highly motivated, organised, and passionate about design and craftsmanship.

• Must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
