Job summary
The Alney Practice has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Reception Manager to join our friendly Practice team, working across all areas of the practice.
You will work closely and report to the Practice Manager/Assistant Practice Manager. You will be an enthusiastic, motivated, and dynamic individual with a positive can-do attitude who is able to organise and co-ordinate a wide range of tasks often within tight timescales and work well under pressure.
This is an exciting role and time to be joining our expanding team.
Main duties of the job
Supportingthe reception team with patient and clinician queries toensure the smooth running of the practice.
Inductingand training new members of the team.
CreatingReception rotas, dealing with annual leave requests.
Setting upnew starters IT log-in details, pathology, and smartcard card access. UsingEMIS clinical system.
You willassist with scheduling training and organising and completing bookings forexternal training.
Assist withreception appraisals, back to work interviews and probation meetings.
Ensureappropriate cover across all sites is maintained at all times.
Provideregular support to the reception, prescription and scanning / coding asrequired to ensure adequate cover is provided to ensure the work is completedto the deadlines set.
Alwaysmaintain confidentiality for patients as well as staff.
Ensure CQC compliance for reception staff.
Thepost-holder will support the equality, diversity and rights of patients, carersand colleagues.
Communicationis key therefore the successful candidate will need recognise and implement theimportance of effective communication within the team.

The Alney Practice is based across 2 sites, Cheltenham Road and Highnam. As a practice we strive to offer the best possible healthcare for our patients. We pride ourselves on providing timely and quality care in the wide range of services we offer.
We have 5 GP partners, 4 Salaried GP's,a nursing team who manage chronic diseases and includes GPA's, HCA's and Phlebotomists, a Pharmacy team and other PCN-based teams including Social Prescribing, Physios, a Mental Health Practitioner and Frailty Nurses.
The reception team consists of 13-14 mainly part-time members of staff.
