Commercial Finance Lead
10 Month Fixed Term Contract
JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE:
The Commercial Finance Lead will work with the current Commercial Operations Manager to lead the delivery of finance workstreams and projects within a larger implementation programme.
The candidate must be versatile, adaptable, and able to apply skills in project management, business analysis, and data analysis to ensure quality and timely delivery of objectives and milestones.
The role involves onboarding the commercial requirements of a new contract, aligning G4S systems and processes with payment mechanisms, and integrating commercial functions with new systems.
The Commercial Finance Lead will lead forecasting and financial reporting, working with senior management, and will be based remotely with occasional travel to locations such as Tewkesbury, Leeds, and London. A driving license and transport are advisable.
The role requires flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work, and a positive, team-oriented attitude is essential to support various workstreams.
RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Implement and embed effective pre- and post-contract commercial management services.
* Implement customer-driven commercial and financial requirements.
* Document all commercial and financial processes.
* Perform commercial management duties in line with policies and procedures.
* Define and manage the Monthly Application process.
* Provide financial reports, including cost forecasting.
* Update commercial systems with new contract pricing.
* Integrate payment and workflow processes with systems and processes.
* Maintain balance sheet accounts properly.
* Manage relationships with commercial teams.
* Control inputs for accurate contract P&L reports.
* Manage contract changes and ad hoc analysis requests.
* Drive efficiencies and profit improvement plans.
* Prepare budget reports.
* Engage with authorities and integrators to ensure value for money.
* Monitor variances and change requests.
* Ensure KPI failures are captured for penalty payments.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Proven track record in a commercial management role on complex accounts.
* Knowledge of commercial management processes that deliver value for money.
* Experience with contract services including reporting, tendering, payments, variations, and claims.
* Understanding of change and risk management processes.
* Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.
* Strong performance management skills and enthusiasm.
* Self-motivated, flexible, and conscientious.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Strong ethical and professional values.
* Significant experience in contract management.
* Ability to work with non-finance operational staff.
* Proficiency with Google G Suite and Microsoft Office.
