Job Description:
Are you interested in supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health issues? Would you like to build your experience working with complex needs alongside trained therapists, counsellors, and psychologists?
An incredible specialist school in Bracknell, catering to children aged 8 to 18 with Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs, is looking for a bright and enthusiastic Mental Health Assistant. The role involves supporting academic learning, emotional wellbeing, and behaviour, with a therapeutic approach employed by the school. The position is full-time and offers training in therapeutic methods. Experience in a similar role or relevant graduates (e.g., Psychology, Counselling, Criminology) are desirable but not essential.
This role provides a unique opportunity to work closely with on-site therapists and psychologists, offering mentorship, shadowing opportunities, and invaluable experience working with SEN and mental health issues. It is ideal for aspiring educational or occupational psychologists, therapeutic support workers, or SEN teachers.
We are seeking someone who is enthusiastic, caring, resilient, open-minded, and ready for a challenge. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with complex needs, this could be the perfect role for you.
