Purpose of the Role As a Yard Operative, you will play a vital role in supporting our workshop and site teams. This is a predominantly workshop-based role, where you’ll be responsible for loading and unloading materials, stock control, and assisting in fabrication work. You will ensure that all tasks are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality. Key Accountabilities You will: Control plant movements within the yard. Load and unload materials from deliveries, ensuring safe storage. Carry out general housekeeping duties within the premises. Conduct stock taking and record inventory accurately. Drill, cut, and dress materials to project requirements. Prepare and chase materials for fabrication or assembly. Undertake general labour duties to support workshop and site teams. Assist in workshop-based fabrication tasks. Attend sites to support steelwork installation when required. Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards. About You Proven experience in fabrication or similar workshop environment. Valid CSCS card. Valid CPCS / NPORS Telehandler certification. Strong understanding of health and safety on construction sites and in workshops. Ability to use workshop tools and machinery (e.g. drills, cutting equipment). Physically fit and able to undertake manual labour tasks. Strong organisational and stock management skills. Good communication and teamwork skills.
