About The Role
We’re seeking a committed and self‑motivated IT Technician to join our dynamic digital services team across South Ribble and Chorley Councils.
Role: IT Helpdesk Technician
Location: South Ribble & Chorley Councils
Contract: Full time (36.25 hrs per week) / Permanent
Salary:£26,824 – £37,280

What you’ll be getting up to
* You’ll be on the front‑line of our IT support service, working closely with customers across the Councils and supporting them with a wide range of queries.
* We’re customer‑focused (including you!). ICT doesn’t mean sat behind a screen all day. Our service extends to every corner of the business. You’ll be out and about engaging with internal customers, and helping them with queries.
* You’ll develop on your set of existing skills and knowledge to identify, analyse and resolve a range of issues. When needed, you’ll have the ability to escalate to your team.
Who we’re looking for
* You’ll be excited by tech. We’re constantly evolving and developing the way we work, this means looking at how we can improve our services through the IT we provide.
* You’ll be a team player. Not only will you work closely with your immediate team, but also the wider Digital Services team (and Council!).
* You’ll have excellent knowledge of supporting Microsoft 365 products.
Other requirements
* This role requires some travel around our boroughs. You should have a valid driving licence or the equivalent mobility.
* Successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check (applied and paid for by the Council).
