What is the role? The purpose of the role is to assist the Site Manager with the management of the construction site according to company guidelines and goals, ensuring all aspects of the project conform to proposed budgets, timelines, and construction and quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Assist with the management of a construction site to ensure the development is completed on time, to specification, and in compliance with safety regulations, as well as company and construction build and quality standards.
2. Ensure all quality and safety inspections meet quality control standards and are conducted according to Group guidelines.
3. Facilitate communication and coordinate activities with external third parties, such as warranty providers, local authorities, and utility companies to ensure the achievement of the build programme.
4. Maintain accurate records for the development, including staff inductions, Health, Safety and Environment documentation, timesheets, incident reports, and quality control checklists.
5. Ensure materials are called off in a timely manner, checked, and stored following Group guidelines.
6. Supervise the activity of the workforce, including all subcontractors, to ensure works are completed on time, to the desired quality standards, and within budget.
7. Work collaboratively with other departments such as Sales and Customer Care to achieve targets, resolve customer issues promptly, and provide timely updates on plot progress.
8. Ensure compliance of the site workforce and visitors with the Group Health, Safety and Environment Policy to minimize incidents and accidents.
Experience and Qualifications
* Experience within the house building industry is essential.
* Understanding of NHBC, LABC, or Premier standards.
* Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation.
* Current CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
* SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) is preferred.
* Full UK Driving Licence is required.
* Qualified to at least NVQ Level 4 in Construction Site Supervision is desirable; training will be provided if needed.
