The role
As a Portable Appliance Tester, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established company facilitating critical work.
Day-to-day, you’ll undertake Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) as directed, primarily but not limited to, Data Centres and desktops. Additionally, you will:
• Be prepared to travel on occasion to other locations within the UK, including overnight stays.
• Work outside core hours when required
• Rectify minor faults by carrying out simple repairs at the point of testing, within your capability
• Follow health and safety guidelines, including risk assessments and method statements
• Ensure compliance with company health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Ashchurch with travel to various site when required.
Essential experience of the Portable Appliance Tester
1. Familiarity with, or willingness to attain, the latest edition of the IET Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment
2. Basic IT literacy to operate testing equipment
Qualifications for the Portable Appliance Tester
3. City & Guilds -22 certification for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment, or willingness to attain it

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Enhanced Developed Vetting (eDV) security clearance for this role.
