Nestled in the heart of our forest you will find the Subtropical Swimming Paradise — heated to 29.5C all year round and open from 10am to 9pm daily. The pool area includes a toddler pool, wave pool, whirlpool, flumes and wild water rapids with activities such as snorkelling, scuba diving and Aqua jets.
LIFEGUARD - TRAINEE / QUALIFIED | £13.29 per hour
Responsibilities
* Act as the main point of contact for guests in the Subtropical Swimming Paradise, greeting guests in a friendly, professional manner while ensuring health and safety standards are met.
* Maintain cleanliness standards within the Subtropical Swimming Paradise and ensure compliance with company and legal requirements at all times.
* Be vigilant and proactive in helping guests, seeking opportunities to meet their needs and provide excellent guest care.
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential requirements:
* Ability to communicate with people from all walks of life
* Ability to perform under pressure and remain calm
* RLSS Pool Lifeguard / NARS Qualification – for qualified lifeguards
* Friendly, genuine and warm towards guests and colleagues
Desirable requirements:
* First Aid Certificate
* Experience in Pool Plant Operation
* Use of a Defibrillator
Training & Selection
Trainee candidates will be required to attend an NPLQ course. An offer of employment will be subject to passing the course and a successful interview. The course will be full-time hours for 5 days and include classroom sessions on lifeguard responsibilities, observing pool guests, rescue techniques, first aid and CPR.
To be a lifeguard, you must be a strong swimmer. If invited to an interview, you will be required to complete a swim test (diving into deep water, timed continuous swimming on front and back, and exiting the pool without a ladder/step).
Background Checks & Commute
Due to the sensitive nature of this role the successful applicant will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. This disclosure, together with other selection information, must be satisfactory for employment to commence. You must be able to reliably commute to Center Parcs Longleat Forest (BA12 7PU) as public transport access may be limited.
If you plan to use public transport, please plan your journey accordingly.
Hours & Availability
We offer a variety of different hours per 4-week period on a flexible basis. Shift times range from 7.30am to 9pm. You will always receive at least your contracted hours per period. Some dates may include public/bank holidays and Christmas/New Year on a rota basis. NPLQ course dates: 27 October to 1 November; applicants must be able to attend all course dates if not already qualified.

You must possess excellent communication skills, be friendly and approachable, and provide a supportive role with personal attention and care to guests.
