Rent Smart Wales is a service within Cardiff Council, established in November 2015, to administer the requirements of Part 1 of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014. This act regulates private rented sector housing in Wales by requiring landlords to register and become licensed or instruct a licensed agent for letting and property management tasks.
The service benefits from web-based systems designed with the customer in mind, contact centre telephone technology, partnership arrangements with 22 authorities across Wales, and is supported by a comprehensive marketing campaign led by Welsh Government.

We are recruiting enthusiastic individuals to join our Inbound Contact Centre Team as Customer Service & Licensing Officers. The role involves providing high-quality customer service to our service users via telephone and email in a Contact Centre environment.
Customer Service & Licensing Officers will support and advise a wide range of customers, ensuring inquiries are resolved at the first point of contact where possible. The role is based at County Hall, Cardiff.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a Call/Contact Centre environment, be customer-focused, possess excellent communication, planning, prioritization, and analysis skills, be a team player, and approach tasks responsibly and enthusiastically.
Additional information
Applicants should be able to communicate effectively in Welsh to Level 4 – Advanced. This role is office-based at County Hall, Cardiff, and is suitable for job share. Applications are welcome in both English and Welsh; Welsh applications will not be treated less favorably.
