GSL Education is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Brentwood on a long-term, full-time basis, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.

About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in helping children with additional needs to reach their full potential — both academically and personally.
You’ll work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide one-to-one and small group support, ensuring that every child feels valued, included, and encouraged to thrive.
This is a wonderful opportunity to build meaningful relationships with pupils and become a trusted part of a caring school community.

What You’ll Be Doing
* Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech & language, or learning difficulties)
* Providing one-to-one and small group assistance inside and outside the classroom
* Helping to adapt lessons and learning materials to meet individual needs
* Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
* Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to support pupil progress
* Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For
* Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting
* A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to learning support
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* A genuine passion for helping every child succeed
* A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent, are desirable but not essential.
