We are currently recruiting for a Quality Technologist Apprentice to provide technical support and advice to the operational team, ensuring current technical standards and customer requirements are maintained and enhanced where appropriate. The role involves supporting all audits on site to ensure timely and effective information provision to auditors.
Responsibilities:
Safety is a condition
* Contribute to building a culture of food safety and quality across the site.
* Reduce hazards, risks, and incidents by promoting the Technical Excellence agenda.
* Embrace “Go for Zero” by promoting positive behaviors, root causing near misses, and coaching the team to manage safety in their areas.
* Track, report, and help improve safety & food safety performance metrics.
Technical Excellence Strategy
* Drive compliance in all production areas against Food Safety & Quality Standards (OPEX MS).
* Promote the Food Safety & Quality Culture model across the site and support the rollout of the site plan.
* Be the key contact for production issues such as supplier NCs, positive release, etc.
* Support the delivery of customer & 3rd party standards and confirm adherence through factory line walks, inspections, and observations.
* Manage supplier complaints & non-conformances. Complete quarterly reviews with key suppliers to ensure foods connected is maintained.
* Support delivery of key technical projects such as hygiene & allergen validations, site claims validations.
* Support internal & external audits and ensure corrective actions are completed on schedule. Assist production in internal mock recalls and traceability exercises.
* Conduct investigations (e.g., microbial complaints), ensuring root cause analysis and shared learning across site/business.
* Support site during production trials to ensure product safety and quality criteria are met.
Build a high-performing team
* Participate in team goals set by the manager and engage in training to achieve site objectives.
* Promote and demonstrate behaviors aligned with company values.
OPEX Improvement
* Set and maintain standards across safety, quality, environmental, and manufacturing areas.
* Utilize data analysis to identify problems and guide decisions.
* Use OPEX tools to support root cause analysis.
Deliver value for the business and customer
* Ensure compliance with company and 3rd party standards across the site.
* Lead technical projects such as validations.
* Be the key contact for production issues, including supplier NCs, to identify root causes.
* Support projects aligned with site goals.
* Conduct investigations (e.g., micro complaints) to identify root causes and share learnings.
* Interest in technical/quality aspects within a food manufacturing environment.
* Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Ability to write reports & risk assessments.
