GCP Cloud Architect £60,000 to £70,000 GBP bonus Hybrid WORKING Location: Central London, Greater London - United Kingdom Type: Permanent Google Cloud Architect - London / Hybrid Up to £70,000 | SC Eligible | No Sponsorship We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Architect to lead the design, deployment, and operation of secure Google Cloud solutions for public sector clients. You will provide technical guidance and mentorship, ensuring projects meet business outcomes and non-functional requirements. This is a London-based role with hybrid working support. Key Responsibilities: Lead the technical architecture and delivery of Google Cloud solutions. Design, deploy, and operate secure Google Cloud environments on client sites and internal reference implementations. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to small teams to ensure successful project delivery. Apply deep knowledge of Google Cloud architecture and engineering to deliver enterprise-grade solutions. Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design specifications, and operational runbooks. Implement foundational cloud platforms (landing zones, IAM, VPC, networking) to enable scalable and secure Google Cloud adoption. Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Requirements: Eligible for SC security clearance; UK residency for at least 5 continuous years (no sponsorship provided). At least one Google Cloud Professional level certification. Expertise in Google Cloud products and services (Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud Storage, GKE, etc.) and broader IaaS solutions (Kubernetes, virtualization). Hands-on experience architecting and engineering cloud solutions to meet business and non-functional requirements. Strong experience with technical documentation and operational runbooks. Excellent communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Desirable: Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and scripting (Python, Bash, Perl). Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and tools. Hands-on experience with networking across cloud and on-premise systems (TCP/IP, subnets, VPC, load balancing, DNS). Experience leading small technical teams and mentoring junior members. Experience in site reliability engineering or IT production systems operations, including troubleshooting live incidents. Benefits: Competitive salary up to £70,000.
