Job description

37 hours per week

Fixed Term until 31st March 2027, with extension possible, subject to continued funding

The Early Years and Childcare Team is seeking an organised, proactive and skilled professional to take a key co-ordination role within the service. As Business Process Co-Ordinator, you will provide oversight and leadership of the full breadth of operational systems that underpin our administrative functions, ensuring they are professional, efficient and continuously improving. In addition, you will lead the promotion and delivery of The Childcare Offer for Wales, ensuring compliance and high levels of take-up locally. This role sits at the heart of service delivery, connecting policy, practice and performance.

In this role, the successful candidate will:

Lead on the development, review and continuous improvement of business processes across the service.

Line manage a team of skilled administrators, providing clear direction, support and opportunities for development.

Oversee the effective and compliant local delivery of The Childcare Offer for Wales, providing appropriate advice, guidance and support to settings on related local and national requirements.

Work collaboratively with senior early years officers to develop systems and processes that help ensure consistent, smooth and effective service delivery.

Use data, insight and stakeholder feedback to support decision-making and drive continuous improvement.

Ensure systems and processes align with local priorities and national policy.

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience of managing and co-ordinating business processes within a complex service environment.

Has strong organisational and analytical skills, with a creative, ‘can do’ approach to solving problems.

Has experience of offering effective line management of others.

Is confident working with data and digital systems.

Has excellent communication skills and can use these to build effective working relationships with colleagues and a wide range of stakeholders.

Knowledge of the early years and childcare sector would be an advantage, but is not essential.

We offer the opportunity to play a key role in shaping and improving services for children, families and local childcare providers, within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

You will benefit from flexible working arrangements and access to ongoing training and CPD, supporting you to develop professionally and succeed in your role

If you are motivated by what you have read so far, we look forward to receiving your application. If you would like to find out more, prior to applying, a discussion with our Childcare Strategy and Sufficiency Manager, Beth Davies, is warmly encouraged and easily arranged.
