Staff Nurse – Endoscopy

In this role you will use your excellent communication skills to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and other departments, ensuring seamless patient journeys. You will also provide exceptional patient‑centred care while confidently managing your own caseload.
Key responsibilities
* Access, plan, implement, evaluate, and provide holistic, high‑quality and individualised care that respects patient personal dignity and beliefs while maintaining a safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff, and promoting effective communication within the care team and with colleagues, patients, relatives and visitors.
* Act as a mentor to students and newly qualified staff, including teaching and assessing within their realm of competence, upholding the philosophy of evidence‑based practice and assisting in the management of the ward budget and ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained.
* Assist senior staff with service development and overall implementation of relevant policies within the department, supporting the Senior Management team with formulation of long‑term strategic plans that require flexibility impacting across the whole Trust.
* Help identify strategies for increasing patient demand while being technically competent and clinically effective, maintaining a professional profile, and developing skills, knowledge and competencies in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Trust Policies and Procedures.
Person specification
* NMC Registered Nurse
* Ability to maintain and improve care standards
* Ability to challenge unacceptable behaviours and promote professional values
* Previous Endoscopy work experience
* Experience caring for patients undergoing Endoscopy procedures
* Experience in Medical and Surgical Nursing
* Clinical skills in cannulation, blood taking and IV medication administration
* Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
* Ability to prioritise tasks and work within good time management skills
* Basic computer skills
* Familiar with MSE IT systems
* Flexible and positive approach to work
* Experience in teaching and understanding of continuous professional development
