Role purpose
Responsible for the architectural design and development of software applications, ensuring alignment with business/customer goals.
To lead the design, development, and implementation of software development programmes, ensuring they meet business requirements and are scalable, maintainable, and reliable.
Key responsibilities
* Lead the architectural design of software applications
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements
* Oversee the development of application solutions
* Ensure adherence to best practices
* Mentor and guide team members
* Ensure applications are scalable, maintainable, and secure
* Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies
* Provide technical direction to the development team including ensuring they are developed in accordance with architectural standards
* Develop and maintain architectural documentation
* Ensure applications meet performance, reliability and governance standards
Skills and experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field or industry qualifications (advantageous but not necessary)
* Demonstrable experience in application architecture
* Proficiency in multiple programming languages
* Strong understanding of software development methodologies and cloud technologies
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
* Positive attitude and strong work ethic
* Ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
* Must be able to obtain the Government and/or Police Security levels required in order to meet the operational requirements of the role (no caveats) and as per the requirements stipulated in relevant customer contracts.
