The role focuses primarily on grant and loan funding arrangements and subsidy control, supporting the Strategic Investment Fund, which drives inclusive, sustainable economic growth across the region. The responsibilities include providing legal support for high‑impact projects across transport, employment, culture, digital, and housing.

* Digital Infrastructure
o LCR Connect – 212 km full‑fibre network for digital inclusion
* Regeneration & Brownfield Development
o Brownfield Land Fund – unlocking housing development across the region
o Urban Development Fund – supporting sustainable commercial and mixed‑use developments
o Chrysalis Fund – financing regeneration projects
* Innovation & Enterprise
o LCR Life Sciences Innovation Zone – integrated Freeport and Investment Zone
o Sci‑Tech Daresbury – lab‑enabled office space for tech and life sciences
o LCR Seed Fund – equity investment in early‑stage businesses
o Kindred CIC – supporting socially‑trading organisations with inclusive economic models
* Environment & Energy
o HyNet North West – hydrogen and carbon capture infrastructure

About the Person
* Qualified solicitor, barrister or CILEX lawyer (England & Wales); this is essential.
* Typically 4+ years post‑qualification experience; exceptional candidates with less experience may be considered.
* Strong drafting and negotiation skills with ability to manage a wide range of in‑house matters.
* Confident communicator able to influence stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
* Proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with a “can‑do” attitude and appetite for autonomy.
Person Specification
* Qualified solicitor, barrister or CILEX lawyer (England & Wales) with extensive post‑qualification experience.
* Experience of complex legal agreements.
* High level of strategic awareness.
