We’re currently looking for a Part Time Kitchen Assistant to work along side the Cook and Kitchen Assistant in our school kitchen. Key Duties: Working closely with the School Cook to ensure the prompt and efficient preparation and service of all hot and cold meals Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the school kitchen and associated areas Assisting when required with planning menus, ordering and receiving deliveries Working effectively and flexibly in a busy environment Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate: Experience working in a reactive catering environment e.g school/residential/health care setting Possess good working knowledge of kitchen equipment and cleaning schedules Able to work proactively and in a self-directed/self-sufficient way Working knowledge of health and safety legislation, including COSHH regulations, manual handling, food hygiene procedures and requirements in relation to food preparation. Good communication skills to liaise effectively with a range of colleagues Flexibility to deal with many and varied requests made on a daily basis Display and maintain a high standard of personal hygiene.
