We are looking to expand our Heat Treatment Function by adding additional Senior Furnace Technicians to the team. As a Senior Furnace Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring all our Heat Treatment assets perform at their optimum level with world class levels of OEE. You will provide assistance to the operations team, performing various tasks that contribute to the overall upkeep and functionality of our organisation. The ideal candidate should have a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to ensuring we achieve world class levels of operational excellence from all our furnaces. What you’ll be doing as our Senior Furnace Technician: Take lead in performing scheduled maintenance tasks on Heat Treatment furnaces, especially extended maintenance tasks such as retort repairs, rebuilds, graphite heating system repairs & rebuilds. Actively support and drive re-engineering projects in additional to ensuring regular checks and inspections of our furnaces. Maintain accurate records of extended maintenance activities, including work performed, materials used, and time spent, using company maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other designated tools. Drive furnace rebuilds and re-engineering projects. Perform periodic checks and verify performance of furnace safety systems. Condition monitoring, measuring and reporting on SAT and TUS test results. Build furnace loads, load and operate furnaces in accordance with defined skills matrix. Adhere strictly to SOP and WI, drive updates as and when necessary. Drive set targets for heat treatment asset (including sub-systems) performance and efficiency. Support commissioning and final acceptance of new equipment. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others. The Skills, Knowledge and Experience you will need as our Senior Furnace Technician: Proven experience in working with and operating heat treatment equipment. Understanding the significance of maintaining heat treatment equipment to ensure its safe and reliable operation. Proficiency in performing preventative maintenance tasks and supporting continuous improvement and re-engineering initiatives. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Be able to maintain vacuum pumps and systems Need to have: 5 years relevant experience working on heat treatment equipment, rebuilding, refurbishment and maintaining. Qualification or vocational training in a materials, heat treatment or process engineering discipline, within Automotive or Aerospace industry Manufacturing and furnace operational expertise. Relentless focus on operational excellence and willing to learn and adapt lean enterprise skills and tools to enhance heat treatment process performance. Experience working with vacuum systems and process gases. Experience working to SOP’s. 5s experience.
