Due to our growing pipeline of interesting and challenging projects, we are looking for an experienced Environmental/Civil Engineer in our thriving Newcastle office. In this role you will be expected to support and collaborate on a range of projects with other Technical Disciplines, including (but not limited to) Geotechnics, Transport Advisory, Planning and Approvals, Hydrology & Hydrogeology and Environmental Specialist Services, servicing national and international projects.
In addition to working closely with our highly experienced Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering Team in Newcastle, you will be part of a 700+ community of SLR APAC professionals, and thousands across the globe, enjoying the benefits of a global network.
Key Responsibilities Job tasks and responsibilities

* Working on a wide range of projects at the technical advisory level, across the Mining and Resources, Infrastructure, Manufacturing & Industry, Resources, Power & Energy and Built Environment Sectors.
* Developing proposals for single and multi-discipline projects.
* Project Management of single and multi-discipline projects.
* Undertaking a range of technical tasks, including:
o Investigation and design of surface water management infrastructure, surface water assessments and design of associated civil engineering infrastructure including dams, channels and culvert design;
o Sediment and Erosion Control Assessments and Design;
o Field audits
* Challenge the norm with the objective of continuous improvement
* Building autonomy as a leader in the business, developing independent internal and external client relationships and growing your own project portfolio.
* Mentoring and leading junior engineers
Skills and experience
Outside wanting to join a positive and friendly team, the right candidate should have:
* 7-15 + years’ experience with tertiary qualifications in environmental or civil engineering
* CPEng and/or CPESC Accreditation will be highly advantageous
* Experience in the management and delivery of multi-disciplinary projects,
* Have excellent written and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to build relationships
* Competency in surface water management and the design of stormwater management infrastructure
* A technical expert with an extensive network and proven project winning experience
* Must have an excellent attitude and be capable of working within a dynamic environment
* Well-developed creative, lateral thinking and problem-solving skills
* Motivation for continuous improvement and professional development
