Job Description
Fox Morris Group is working with Darlington Borough Council to recruit an experienced Family Group Conference (FGC) Facilitator. This role plays a key part in supporting the Council’s commitment to relational practice and family-led decision making.
You will work directly with families to help them create safe, sustainable and achievable plans for their children’s safety, wellbeing, and future.
Key Responsibilities
* Facilitate high-quality Family Group Conferences, ensuring all relevant family members and professionals are fully included.
* Prepare families sensitively and effectively, building confidence and clarity ahead of the meeting.
* Support families to create meaningful, realistic Family Plans that reflect their strengths and solutions.
* Ensure the child’s voice, wishes, and needs remain at the centre of every decision.
* Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, maintaining Darlington’s strong relational practice model.
* Manage your own caseload professionally, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.
* Produce clear, concise, and accurate reports following each FGC.
About You
We are seeking someone who is:
* Experienced in Family Group Conferencing, facilitation, or similar family-support roles.
* Skilled at building trust, rapport, and positive relationships with families.
* Confident working in a multi-agency environment.
* Highly organised with excellent time-management skills.
* A strong communicator with the ability to write clear, detailed reports.
* Passionate about empowering families and improving outcomes for children.
