About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Graduate Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Primary and Secondary SEND schools, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) provisions in Salford.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in specialist education settings. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with additional needs including autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.
* Assist teachers in delivering differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCP targets.
* Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies.
* Implement trauma-informed and restorative approaches within the classroom.
* Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress.
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
* Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and external professionals.
The Ideal Candidate
* Holds a degree (Education, Psychology, Childhood Studies, or related field preferred).
* Demonstrates patience, resilience, and strong behaviour management skills.
* Understands safeguarding procedures and inclusive education practices.
* Is passionate about supporting vulnerable young people to achieve their full potential.
