BACKGROUND TO THE POST
The Marketing Coordinator plays a vital role in achieving WCG's business objectives by delivering a full spectrum of marketing activities tailored to drive growth across key areas, including Further Education, Higher Education, Adult Courses, Apprenticeships, and Commercial income streams. This position requires a high level of competence in managing expectations across WCGs diverse colleges, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, and ensuring marketing efforts are aligned with WCG goals.
The role demands an adaptable, proactive, and results-driven individual who can juggle multiple priorities, deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure, and constantly seek ways to improve the effectiveness of marketing activities.
The successful candidate will support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all marketing campaigns and activities focusing on a selection of college(s) within the WCG group.
The role also involves organising key events, including open events, awards ceremonies and stakeholder engagement events for the selected college(s) and the wider group. Flexibility and versatility are essential, as the role's focus may shift based on business priorities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Campaign Development and Management
● Integrated Campaigns: Develop and execute annual marketing plans in collaboration with the Marketing Manager, utilising channels such as digital, print, outdoor, and social media to achieve business targets.
● Lead Nurturing: Implement CRM-driven marketing automation tools to design communications that guide leads through the decision-making process.
● Performance Monitoring: Evaluate campaign effectiveness, measure ROI, and provide regular reports to stakeholders to refine strategies.
Digital and Content Marketing
● Website Management: Maintain and optimise course and product pages, ensuring engaging, accurate, and SEO-aligned content. Regularly report on web performance.
● Social Media: Manage social media accounts to drive engagement, build connections, and foster stakeholder relationships.
● Digital Advertising: Plan and execute targeted digital campaigns, including Google Ads, Facebook, and LinkedIn, to boost inquiries and applications.
● Content Creation: Write compelling copy for diverse outputs such as emails, publications, and social media, ensuring materials are engaging and error-free.
Publications: Lead the creation of key publications like prospectuses and manage
Event Coordination and Support
● Event Management: Organise and deliver major events, including open events, awards ceremonies and other recruitment and stakeholder engagement events, ensuring timely and professional execution.
● Event Collaboration: Work with the broader teams to plan, execute, and evaluate event success.
Data Analysis and Reporting
● Performance Insights: Analyse data such as application trends, event feedback, and digital metrics to inform marketing strategies.
● Stakeholder Reporting: Provide actionable insights in regular reports shared with internal and external stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement
● Build and maintain positive relationships with academic clients, ensuring marketing activities align with their objectives.
● Represent the college and the Marketing Department at internal and external meetings and events.
Continuous Improvement
● Regularly review marketing activities, identifying areas for enhancement to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and ROI

In order to support during busy exam periods, you may be asked to undertake exam invigilator duties. The College will provide training.

LEAVE ENTITLEMENT
The College offers a generous leave entitlement of 48 days leave (includes 35 days leave, 8 statutory Bank Holidays, 4 College closure days at Christmas and an annual Relaxed Day).
HOURS OF WORK
The post holder will be expected to work such hours as are necessary for the proper performance of their duties and responsibilities, normally 37 hours per week.
Evening and weekend work may be required for event support.
PLACE OF WORK
The principal place of work will be the College's premises based at our Royal Leamington Spa College. However, the post holder may be required to work on either a temporary or an indefinite basis at any premises at which we may provide services.
The role involves travel across WCG campuses and the surrounding communities; a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential. This flexibility ensures support across all six colleges within the WCG group, aligning with the organisation's needs and priorities.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Attainments
* GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics, or Level 2 equivalent qualification.
* Experience of working in the education sector or a youth audience.
* Experience in delivering integrated marketing campaigns.
* Good understanding of current digital marketing concepts and best practice.
* Experience in working with social and digital platforms.
* Experience of working to targets with results driven outcomes.
* Experience of writing creative and engaging marketing copy.
* Managing a wide variety of activities for a number of clients
* Excellent IT skills
* Hold a current full UK driving licence free of major endorsements
Desirable Attainments
* Educated to degree level or equivalent or substantial experience in a marketing or educational role.
* Substantial experience in the events industry (minimum two years).
* CIM or other relevant industry qualifications.
* High degree of creative flair with the ability to produce creative ideas and plans.
* Strong knowledge of latest trends and technologies in marketing.
* Experience of website content management systems (CMS).
* Ability to demonstrate and deliver an innovative approach to work.
