About the Role
Bridges team in Gloucester, supporting Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) on a long‑term professional services contract. Work in the client’s office, directly support GCC officers and deliver high‑quality services across the county. This Senior Engineer role involves leading projects to protect and enhance county structures, contributing to design, assessment and inspection schemes, and participating in the design and construction of new infrastructure for the county’s transport network.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead projects that protect and enhance Gloucestershire’s structural assets.
* Collaborate with WSP specialists to deliver high‑quality services across the county.
* Engage stakeholders and promote health & safety, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Qualifications
* A passion for working on projects that make a real difference to local communities.
* A mature approach to health and safety, promoting high standards and setting an example for the team, colleagues and clients.
* Experience in the development of highway structure projects, assessments and/or inspections.
* Evidence of confident communication, capable of conveying your point of view and keeping stakeholders and colleagues informed.
* Working towards Incorporated or Chartered status with a professional institution.
* A civil engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
