Head of Finance (Maternity Cover – 3 days per week)
Salary: £90k-£100k (pro-rata)
Start date: Between 8–19 December 2025
Contract: 12 months (maternity cover)

An exciting opportunity to join a high-growth, purpose-led consulting business on a part-time basis, covering a key finance leadership role during maternity leave. The business has grown consistently year-on-year and is now profitable, with strong plans to scale further in 2026.

A UK-based consulting business with a strong social impact mission, focused on driving positive change and creating opportunities through its work. Having operated for several years, the company has achieved consistent double-digit revenue growth and is supported by a lean and effective finance function, including the CFO, Head of Finance (on leave), and an offshore accounts assistant.
The role
The Head of Finance will report directly to the CFO and take ownership of core finance operations, ensuring robust controls, timely reporting, and continuous improvement of processes. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a commercial mindset and strong attention to detail.
Key responsibilities
* Lead and enhance the month-end close process, including payroll, invoicing and credit control, quarterly sales commissions, and non-cash adjustments
* Maintain and improve transaction and control processes, ensuring readiness for external audit
* Manage tax returns and year-end close activities
* Oversee and develop the offshore accounts assistant providing day-to-day support
* Support the CFO with KPI and performance reporting across financial and non-financial metrics
Experience & qualifications
* Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualified experience, ideally operating at Financial Controller level
* Background in working with SMEs, ideally in manufacturing or people-based industries
* ACA qualification preferred (ACCA, CIMA also considered)
