Implement effective communication strategies to promote staff involvement In conjunction with the 0-19 Services Manager, Quality and Service Improvement Lead, clinical colleagues and other stakeholders implement new ways of working at a team level, taking appropriate advice from corporate colleagues. Detailed job description and main responsibilities Provide all staff with appropriate leadership, support and training to undertake their jobs satisfactorily. Undertake agreed countrywide leadership and support, develop and implement any specific projects for example, new service developments, productivity improvement work Ensure that all staff within the team are supported to use information systems for data collection, that deadlines are met for submitting data and that data is analysed to help allocate work and maximise productivity Carry out all duties to the highest possible standard. Communication Demonstrate the ability to reconcile conflicting interests which may arise Influence decisions regarding service delivery through leading meetings The post holder will use well developed change management, communication and resilience skills to effect change within the team, understanding the complexities of change whilst also being able to deliver change Use sophisticated communication skills to impart difficult or unwelcome news primarily to staff, for example, disciplinary, performance and grievance matters To develop and maintain effective working relationships with clinical colleagues within the service, division and Trust Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders and partners to support integration of services across Bedfordshire Ensure clients and their carers/families are aware of the standards they would expect from the service Communicate effectively with commissioners Analyse and provide reports and decipher information from data and communicate this information to the Service Manager and Quality and Service Improvement Lead. Budgetary Responsibility Authorised signatory Authorisation of resources utilising current procurement systems People Management Responsibility for day-to-day management of the 0-19 team including management of HR processes where necessary, for example, grievance, disciplinary, performance management, appraisal, appointing panel member at recruitment, reviewing work performance and progress, work allocation and supporting resilience and wellbeing. Support the Service Manager in the workforce planning process Ensure that the recruitment, retention, motivation, and development of staff are key leadership priorities Manage and record sickness absence in accordance with the Trust Sickness and Wellbeing Policy and report accurately to inform Trust workforce information systems Ensure human resource initiatives, such as improving working lives diversity and safe employment are implemented and embedded, as well as seeking to develop new ways of working to improve service delivery and patient care Meet the Trust target rate for mandatory training compliance in the locality Ensure all staff within the service receives an appropriate annual appraisal, which will include key objectives and a personal development plan to enhance team and individual performance Maintain own professional development and requirement to take part in appraisal and KSF process if appropriate and meet the Trust target rate for appraisal compliance in the locality Effectively schedule annual leave and study leave, ensuring the availability of cover at all times and that bank/agency cover is kept to a minimum Provide appropriate leadership to direct reports who line manage others to ensure they have sufficient skills and support to carry out their role effectively. Research & Development Support the Clinical Services Manager in facilitating a research and development culture that enables staff to take a critical and innovative approach to practice, undertaking regular R&D activity as appropriate Evaluate the care given to assess the quality of the provision through the implementation of audit As agreed with the Quality and Service Improvement Lead and Service Manager regularly engage in clinical audit to inform service performance as well as support service improvement. Clinical and Practice Governance Observe and maintain strict confidentiality with regards to any patient/family/staff/records and information in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act and GDPR Any data that is taken/shared as part of a phone call or transported, faxed or transferred electronically must be undertaken with regard to the Trust Information Governance and Information Security policies. The post holder must adhere to the Trust risk assessment and risk management processes The post holder must adhere to Trust policies and procedures It is a condition of your employment that you are currently registered with NMC, and it is your responsibility to maintain your professional registration. Undertake mandatory training and any other training relevant to the role as required by Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust. The post holder must participate in clinical and safeguarding audits as required Participate in clinical supervision on a regular basis The post holder is required to participate in relevant emergency preparedness process for their team.
