A leading UK manufacturer and supplier of specialist faade and architectural solutions is looking to appoint a Faade Technician / Engineer to join its growing technical team in Leeds.
This is an opportunity to work within a highly regarded engineering environment, supporting major construction and faade projects from early design through to delivery. You will play a key role in developing technically compliant, commercially viable solutions while working closely with customers, internal teams, and project stakeholders.
The Role
Working as part of a specialist technical function, you will take ownership of faade design and technical development across a range of projects. From initial concept through to construction support, you will ensure solutions are accurate, buildable, and aligned with client requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing faade designs from concept through to detailed design and construction stages.
Producing high quality technical drawings using AutoCAD, including plans, elevations, sections, and detailed components.
Interpreting architectural and structural drawings to coordinate accurate faade solutions.
Carrying out design reviews to ensure solutions are technically compliant and cost effective.
Generating optimised design proposals within defined response times.
Preparing fabrication and installation drawings in line with project specifications.
Managing design revisions and maintaining drawing control throughout project lifecycles.
Supporting project teams with technical input during design and delivery phases.
Identifying and mitigating technical risks relating to buildability, durability, and safety.
Attending design meetings and coordination workshops with internal and external stakeholders.
Supporting site teams with technical queries, non-conformances, and remedial solutions.
Building strong technical relationships with customers to ensure solutions meet project requirements.
Supporting commercial and programme discussions alongside account and project teams.
What You Will Bring
Experience within faade engineering, cladding systems, or building envelope design.
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and technical drawing production.
Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings accurately.
Solid understanding of construction processes and faade buildability.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Confident communicator, able to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
